WEDNESDAY JANUARY 13

Adults with learning difficulties arts and craft sessions. Every Wednesday 10.30am to 12.30pm and Saturdays from 11am to 1pm at Arttrend, Arundel Road, Luton. Social and creative activity for adults with learning difficulties, engaging in all types of art and craft work such as painting in acrylics, papier mache, salt dough, cross stitch, rug making etc. Please see the website www.arttrend.co.uk and go to Art ALD, then see the gallery of work already done. Luton Irish Forum holds a weekly Tuesday and Wednesday Club from 11am to 1.30pm at 102 Hitchin Road. This is a great chance to meet old friends and make some new ones. Refreshments are all included along with soda bread, scones with jam and monthly chicken and chips. Entry costs £1, plus optional £3 for two games of bingo and a raffle.

Jack and the Beanstalk tells the well-loved story of the humble farmer’s boy who overcomes all the odds and defeats the Giant – but with a modern twist. Meanwhile, Dick Whittington is a risqué production featuring musical numbers, adult humour and a rocking house band.

Luton Irish Forum’s Baby & Toddler Group meets at 102 Hitchin Road Luton LU2 0ES every Friday from 9.30am to 11.30am during term time. This group welcomes all communities. Recommended a donation of £1.25 per adult and 75p per child. Come along to meet other parents/grandparents/carers and children and have fun through play and song. A drink and a snack is provided for your child(ren) around the middle of the session. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available for the adults throughout the morning. One of pop’s most beloved musicians is to be celebrated in a tribute show coming to The Stables, Wavendon. Dreaming of Kate features the music of Kate Bush The new show will feature performer Maaike Breijman, making use of her resemblance to the singer and imitating her vocal style and appearance. MONDAY JANUARY 18

Music on Mondays returns to Luton Library Theatre at 7.30pm with a tenor, viola and piano recital featuring James Gilchrist, Philip Dukes and Anna Tilbrook. They will perform classic Schubert lieder, including Auf dem Strom and his Arpeggione sonata, along with e Ralph Vaughan Williams’ ever popular, quintessentially British settings of Robert Louis Stevenson’s poems, Songs of Travel.
