A new restaurant and bar will be opening in Houghton Regis in the new year.

Business man Kishor Patel, who used to run the Nisa Local store in Hillborough Crescent, bought the Dog and Duck, Parkside Drive, and work on the project began in April.

The new eating and drinking venue will have four two- bedroom flats upstairs.

Mr Patel said: “I have worked in Houghton Regis for 29 years and I know the area well. This is what has been missing, a stylish place that can be enjoyed by everyone.

“There will be no TVs because I want it to be a place where you can socialise and talk to each other. I want it to be a family restaurant. The menu will have a variety of dishes to cater for everyone.

“It will have a new name because the whole place has been revamped. It is a new adventure for me, a challenge, but it is also really exciting.

“I am looking for a head chef and manager who are looking for new challenges.”
