Over two thirds of drivers are speeding in a residential street in Dunstable, according to a councillor.

At a meeting of Dunstable Town Council’s community services committee on Monday, Cllr Eugene Ghent revealed figures from a single week in November last year that over 68% of drivers were breaking the 20mph speed limit on Bullpond Lane.

Cllr Ghent said the figures were retrieved from an officer at Bedfordshire Police.

He said: “Some of these roads have got bumps and cameras but if you go to the local authority they say that it’s a police matter.”
