Two women in Dunstable whose nearest and dearest were touched by cancer have decided to sell their art in a bid to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Jacqueline Dowsing, 50, and Tracy Stone, 44, are exhibiting their paintings at Priory House Heritage Centre and Tea Rooms, with all of the artwork up for sale.
And it’s clear supporting Cancer Research means a lot to them. Jacqueline’s mother died of cancer 20 years ago, and she lost her cousin to the disease last August. Tracy’s daughter Holly, now 13, battled leukaemia when she was just three.
Jacqueline said: “I think it’s close to so many people’s heart, because so many people are touched by cancer in some way or other.
“With my cousin dying so young it’s brought it all back to the forefront of my mind, and my mum never leaves me.”
Tracy added: “Any support that we can offer to Cancer Research is brilliant.”
