Blaze of glory at Paralympic Flame Festival

A free family event in Dunstable will showcase a flame which will be part of the Paralympic Games opening ceremony.

Four flames from UK capital cities will be merged at Stoke Mandeville to create the Paralympic Flame.

But first, Beds and Luton Paralympic Ambassador Mick Dillon, chief executive of the Disability Resource Centre, will bring the London flame to Dunstable.

It will be on show at a “Flame Festival” at the resource centre, in Poynters Road, from 9.30am-12.30pm this Sunday, August 26.

Anyone can attend. The event will include a jazz band, exhibits and all sorts of activities.
