Maria Collins of Home Instead Senior Care used her skills as a nurse to look after her own parents during what she calls their sunset years and is keen to pass on useful information for what can be an emotional and challenging time.

Maria, who also chairs Luton’s Dementia Action Alliance, will be making the donation as part of her company’s contribution to this year’s Dementia Awareness Week (May 15 - 21).

She will be handing over 10 copies of Molly Carpenter’s book, Confidence to Care, and hopes it will provide a useful resource for people and help family carers to feel supported.
