Dunstable’s newest care home, Rosewood Court, has opened its doors for the first time this week.
The brand new, purpose built home, which is located on London Road, was visited by over 50 care sector workers, local councillors and business owners, giving them the first opportunity to view the state-of-the-art facilities.
The home was officially opened by the Town Mayor of Dunstable, Councillor Liz Jones, with a ceremonial ‘ribbon cutting’.
Rosewood Court, which is located on London Road, will be operated by Only Care Ltd – a family owned business established in 2007 with a mission to create a home from home environment with first-class care for the residents who live with them. In a presentation given by Only Care’s Regional Operations Manager, Chris Ashton, guests were given an insight into the company and the benefits of the home.
Chris said, “Everyone here at Rosewood Court is delighted to be showcasing our beautiful new home. We have a great staff team and unique facilities and we are all positive we can make Rosewood Court a fantastic place to live and work. It is a great home in a great location and we are sure it will soon become a key part of the local community.”
Tours of the three storey home from home facility also took place with guests viewing the unique cinema room, luxury coffee shop, social club and hair salon. The home boasts 100% en-suite bedrooms and was designed and built by LNT Construction, a Leeds based construction company specialising in providing fully integrated turn of key solutions for care providers. LNT Construction were pleased to attend the open day along with key personnel from Natwest Bank. Directors of Only Care Ltd, Amit and Rupen Dhamecha both commented that they were very pleased with the support from the bank and LNT Construction and they look forward to working with them more in the future.
Guests, including the Town Mayor, were then treated to a luxury buffet lunch. Councillor Liz Jones had been keeping a close eye on the build after attending the ‘topping out’ ceremony last year. She said “I am really impressed with the facilities at Rosewood Court. It was great to take a tour around the new home and I am sure it will be a great addition to the local community. Only Care are very committed to ensuring this is a top quality nursing and residential care facility and I am very much looking forward to meeting the new residents when they move in.”
Rosewood Court will provide a home for 66 local older people requiring residential, dementia or nursing care. The home is located on London Road, opposite the Holiday Inn Express hotel and there is also an open day for the public on Sunday 6 March where local residents can view the facilities and reserve rooms.
