Caddington’s traditional village show gets telly treatment from BBC crew

The Caddington Village Show took place in glorious sunshine on Saturday – and there were a few famous faces among the crowds.

Presenters and a camera crew from BBC’s The One Show were at the event, and the village can be seen on the show every night this week.

They settled on Caddington after an extensive hunt for a traditional village show to feature on the programme, and got really stuck in, with the presenters entering carefully-nurtured creations in categories from cupcakes to horticulture.

Sally Ryan, one of the show’s organisers said: “The One Show team were absolutely lovely – we had Mike Dilger, Matt Allwright, Anita Rani and John Sergeant.

“The whole day was wonderful and we must have had 600 people over the course of the day.”

Boxer Graham Earl attended with his family and officially opened the show, and the stars of the day included Teresa Nash, who won the adult exhibitor award, and Reggie the curly-coated retriever, who best in show in the dog show.
