Captured in print . . .

THE love and devotion that epitomises Keech Hospice Care is to be captured in a book celebrating its 21st anniversary.

The charity, which opened in 1991, is creating a permanent record from when the idea was first mooted in 1986 to the present day. It will bring together the stories, pictures and memories of those who have been part of the hospice’s rich history.

Marketing director Jacqui Shepherd is heading the initiative with contributions from staff, families, volunteers and one very active work experience student – 24-year-old Aurelija Dugnaite, who was given the mammoth task of researching the project.

She has been trawling through countless records and documents and believes the book will be an in-depth look at the charity which has given so much to those who have needed it.

She said: “I felt it was important to capture the memories of volunteers and family members of past patients.

“We didn’t just want names and dry facts, we wanted the beautiful and intimate moments as well.”

It will also emphasise the hard work, enthusiasm and commitment required to run such an important facility.

Aurelija and Jacqui have been inundated with support and contributions.
