Carrier bag charge make a difference for charity
Nisa Local, of St Dominic’s Square, started charging customers 5p a bag in October when the plastic bag charge was introduced.
The store donated 2p from each bag to the Luton based charity that aims to buy equipment for children with Type 1 Diabetes, the amount was raised from October to December.

Hide AdScott Jell, store manager, presented the cheque to Aoife and Bailey Abbott, he said: “We have chosen this charity because it is for a great cause, they want to help children in Luton who have Type 1 Diabetes and we hope this donation helps them.
“We will change the charity every three months, we want our customers to choose the charity to receive the next cheque, which will be at the end of March.”
