The carers lounge in St Mary’s Wing was opened by MP Alistair Burt, who is president of Carers in Bedfordshire,

He said: “Carers do such a vital job and we need to ensure they are supported at all levels. Offering space to rest and relax as well as talk to key agencies who can offer advice and information is a wonderful service.”
The lounge is run by support staff and volunteers from Carers in Bedfordshire. Representatives from MIND, the Disability Resource Centre, the Stroke Association, Alzheimer’s Society and Keech Hospice Care are available on a regular basis.
