Burglary spree appeal

A spate of burglaries has hit Houghton Regis in the last week.

A property in Nash Close was broken into and a purse was taken between 11.30pm on Tuesday (15 March) and 7.30am on Wednesday (16 March), while the occupants were asleep.

Between 4am and 7.30am on Wednesday a property in Gainsborough Drive was targeted and a small black Michael Kors bag was taken.

The following evening a burglary took place in Langbrooke between 11pm on Wednesday and 4.40am on Thursday.

Cigarettes and a small bag containing a wallet were taken.

During the same time, a house was victim to a break-in at Vanbrugh Drive where a laptop and handbag were stolen.

A further house was broken into in Constable Close the same evening.

A bank card was stolen and several attempts were made to use the card in the early hours of the morning.

PC Simon Day, investigating, said: “This spate of burglaries in the town appears to be linked and we are thoroughly investigating each one.”
