Class B drugs found during community sweep in Dunstable

Class B drugs were discovered in Dunstable during two days of community action by Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC).
The two-day event was supported by the council’s partners and volunteers who carried out patrols and door knocks to engage with both residents and businesses about community safety issues.

Hide AdDuring a weapons sweep, a ‘small amount of class B drugs was seized’, which was followed by speed checks on roads around th town.
Information stalls were set up in The Quadrant which saw for Dunstable town mayor, Councillor Liz Jones, and other councillors speak with residents about their concerns.
Also in the shopping centre, MoreLife offered free blood pressure and BMI checks, as well as healthy living advice.
Hedgerows were cleared by Dunstable Town Council’s grounds team to make way for new fencing while Ashton Square had a clean and tidy-up by Environmental Services.

Hide AdMeanwhile at Dunstable Library, free arts and crafts activities were put on for local people. Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity held their Wellbeing Café followed by a wellbeing walk. Councillor Rebecca Hares from CBC called the event a ‘great success’. Cllr Hares said: “This enabled us to effectively understand several pressing local issues and discuss tangible solutions that we believe will lead to a significant enhancement in the daily lives of the people of Dunstable.”
The council will be holding more community action events in Toddington at the end of July and in Arlesey in September.”
