Dawn raid on Luton home in historic abuse case

Homes across the Vale were also raided in relation to child sexual exploitation between 1998 and 2004.

Officers executed one warrant in Luton, five warrants at homes in Aylesbury and one in Wendover at 6am as part of a force-wide operation.

They are in relation to a probe into reports of historic child sexual exploitation in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Four homes in High Wycombe were also raided.

Ailsa Kent, chief inspector from Major Crime in Aylesbury, said: “Child sexual exploitation is and will remain a force priority and we are investing more resources than ever before to tackle this type of exploitation across the Thames Valley.

“Safeguarding and protecting victims robustly and vigorously is a priority.

“People in the local community may have concerns about today’s warrants and I would ask them to speak to their local neighbourhood policing teams.

“If you have been a victim of child sexual exploitation, I would encourage you to come forward and speak to the police in confidence. We will listen to you and support you.”
