Dunstable woman cautioned over Facebook posts after St Albans murder

Since the death of Emille ‘Millz’ Stapleton last Saturday (October 24), there have been a number of incidents of ‘disorder and unruly behaviour’ around the city.

More than 30 men were involved in a riot outside Tasty’s Chicken & Pizza in Vesta Avenue, St Albans, on Tuesday night and eyewitnesses have said that the fight was in relation to the fatal stabbing of Millz Stapleton.

Herts Police officers have also been made aware of a number of posts made on social media that are ‘of concern’.

Today a 20-year-old woman from Dunstable was arrested and issued with a caution for malicious communications made via Facebook.

Chief inspector for St Albans, Ken Townsend, said: “It is perfectly understandable that people feel saddened and angry and that tensions may be running high following the events at the weekend, but we and Emille’s family are keen to stress that officers must be allowed to focus on their investigation and day to day policing in the area.

“My officers will of course be out and about in the community as part of their daily patrols and for added reassurance.

“However, I would like to stress should there be any incidents we will make use of any powers available to us to disrupt and prevent disorder so please, consider the consequences your actions have.”

Eleven people have been arrested and released on bail after Emille Stapleton was stabbed near a block of flats on London Road.

In a statement the 19-year-old’s family said: “We are devastated by the death of Emille and are fully supporting police in their investigation to bring offender(s) to justice.

“This is hugely important to us and we would ask others to please remain calm and do the same in Emille’s memory.”
