Dunstable woman suffers burns to face in house fire


A woman has suffered burns to her arms and face in a serious house fire.

Beds Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 6.10pm yesterday (June 5) to the fire at Aldbanks, Dunstable.

Two fire engines from Dunstable Community Fire Station to tackle it. When they arrived five minutes later they found there was a fire in a first floor bedroom of a two storey, three bedroom, semi-detached house.

The woman was helped from the house and was treated by firefighters at the scene.

The fire was extinguished by 7pm. It caused 50 per cent fire damage to the bedroom and 100 per cent smoke damage to the house.

Except for the injured woman there were no other casualties. A fire investigation is underway.
