Five remanded over Atul Shah killing

Five Luton people charged in connection with the murder of Atul Shah at his home in Crescent Road, Luton, have appeared in court via video links.

The hearing at Luton Crown Court on Friday, and an earlier one on March 1 were for administrative purposes, but some of the charges were put to four of the defendants.

Two of them, Kyle Pitchford-Price and Luke West pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder.

The murder trial is expected to begin in July this year. Mr. Shah, 47 was found dead on Jan 6 this year, and the murder investigation was launched.

One of the five people arrested, Brian Edge, 56 of Harthill Drive, pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender and doing an act tending or intended to pervert the course of public justice at a hearing on Mar 1st

On Friday Kyle Pitchford-Price, 22, of Dovehouse Hill and Luke West, 23, of Abbots Wood Road also both pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to rob. Pitchford-Price denied a third charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Corrina Armstrong, 21 of Dovehouse Hill pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to rob.

Callum Holton 19, of Milton Road appeared on the video link but the charges were not put to him on this occasion.

All five have been remanded in custody.
