The crowds turned out for the annual Houghton Regis May Day event on Saturday.
Traditional events on the Village Green entertained the crowds, from the crowning of the May Day Queen to dancing round the Maypole.
It’s the third annual May Day event, organised by Houghton Regis Town Council and organisers sa id it was a great success.
The Town Mayor crowned Zoe Goldsmith as the May Day Queen with princesses Niamh McGregor and Faith Hurlock.
Morris dancers the Red Cuthberts provided the entertainment along with Maypole dancing organised by Mike Ruff.
He was also part of the folk duo Allcock and Brown who entertained with Victorian songs.
Alice Young was presented with the St Vincent’s trophy for the important part she played in helping with last year’s May Day.
There were also stalls, food and tea and coffee provided by the Houghton Regis Helpers, who also helped with a tea party in the pavilion.
