Police are appealing for witnesses after a pizza delivery driver was robbed in Houghton Park, Houghton Regis, on Saturday, December 20.
The incident happened at 5:40pm, the delivery driver, in his twenties, had delivered a pizza to a nearby address when he noticed a group of about eight youths hanging around his car.
They threatened him and demanded his money, he handed it over and got into his car, they then demanded his phone, breaking the driver’s window, he drove off and called the police.
The youths are described as around 13-14 years of age.
One was a slim white youth, about 5ft 5” tall, he was wearing a grey hoody with a dark coloured scarf around his face, with gloves and dark jogging bottoms.
A second youth was the same age and height with a slightly lighter grey hoody and carrying a small metal crowbar or pipe.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Rachel Lydon, said: “If you recognise the description of this group of youths hanging around Houghton Park between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday we’d like to hear from you.
“This driver was just going about his deliveries and was clearly concerned for his safety when this gang robbed him.
“There is a possible witness that we’d like to talk to who the victim believed was also a pizza delivery driver. He had warned the victim that there were youths hanging around and had a red delivery bag in his vehicle. We would like this person to come forward and tell us what he saw.
