Police sergeant suffers minor injuries after vehicle mounts Luton roundabout

A police sergeant suffered minor injuries after the marked vehicle he was driving mounted a Luton roundabout.

The incident took place on the Castle Street roundabout in the early hours of Sunday, December 6.

Footage of the mounted vehicle has been shared on social media.

A Beds Police spokesman said: "At approximately 2.30am on Sunday, December 6, a police sergeant was driving a marked police vehicle in Castle Street, Luton when it was involved in a single vehicle collision.

"The vehicle did not overturn and the officer, who sustained minor injuries, is currently recovering at home.

"The force would like to thank all members of the public who were concerned for the officer’s welfare.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the police online or by calling 101 and quote incident number 45 of 6 December."
