Roads closed as police investigate double stabbing in Luton

Two roads in Luton are currently closed following a double stabbing this morning (Sunday).

Two men suffered what are believed to be serious but not life-threatening injuries in the incident, which happened just before 6am.

“We are treating the stabbings as linked and a man has been arrested in connection to both incidents.” said a police spokesman.

Alma Link and Cardiff Road are currently closed while investigation work is carried out.

“We appreciate that the Luton Carnival is taking place today and that there will be additional people in the town centre.

“We will look to re-open the roads as soon as possible in order to minimise the amount of disruption caused, but in the meantime we would ask the public to use alternative routes.”
