A Dunstable schoolboy who died suddenly last week has been described as a popular and thoughtful teenager.
Queensbury Academy student Ben Kanfiszer, 14, went into cardiac arrest after collapsing at his home on Beecroft Way on Sunday, November 30 at around 12.45pm, prompting an air ambulance and rapid response vehicles to be sent.
Ben was taken to Luton & Dunstable Hospital by land ambulance, but sadly died.
Bedfordshire and Luton Coroner Service has opened an investigation into Ben’s death. Following the tragic death scores of tributes have been paid to the 14-year-old.
A spokesperson for Ben’s family told the Gazette: “He was a popular, thoughtful boy who made a impression on all who met him.
“He enjoyed an active life and enjoyed sports such as rugby and thai boxing.
“He will be sadly missed by us all especially his school friends and older sister Sophie and younger brother Joseph.
“Ben especially had time for younger children, taking time out to give guidance.
“We can’t thank the people of Dunstable enough for the kind words and support they have given us.”
