He and a group of friends with personal connections to the genetic disorder are joining forces to climb Ben Nevis next month.

The 30-year-old youth service officer has raised thousands for the charity and proved the condition is no barrier to achieving the seemingly impossible.

He’s already climbed Ben Nevis twice and other accomplishments include cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End and completing the New York and London marathons.

Simon said: “I manage to contain my symptoms with vigorous training, but some are not so lucky. Each week in the UK five babies are born with CF and three people die.”

His courage and determination have been recognised with countless awards including an historic Child of Achievement Award and Adult Achiever at Luton’s Best.

He’ll be accompanied on his latest challenge by Luton dad Paul Hosier whose 15-month-old son Noah has CF, Noah’s godfather Chris Sygrove and two loyal friends, Alan Farrelly and Nick Munn.
