Dial 101 for police calls

IF you want to contact Bedfordshire Police dial 101 – that’s the message from Chief Inspector Jim Lunn who is keen to encourage use of the single non-emergency number that has been in use since September.

Bedfordshire Police is currently receiving about 10% of its non-emergency calls on the 101 number but would like to increase this.

As well as making the police more accessible, it is hoped that 101 will reduce the number of inappropriate 999 calls that are made to the force.
