Dunstable cystic fibrosis champion Simon to carry Olympic torch

DUNSTABLE charity champion Simon Stothard was “honoured, surprised and humbled” to be chosen as an Olympic torchbearer.

The Luton Children and Families Information Service officer said: “Just being nominated was enough for me. But to go this far is fantastic.”

He added: “The timing of 8 July is perfect, topping off a year when I will have completed two duathlons, three half marathons andmy biggest challenge yet – cycling more than 1,000 miles in nine days from John O’Groats to Land’s End.”
