The waiting is finally over for thousands of youngsters as their A level results are revealed.
And it was good news for schools in the Dunstable and Houghton Regis area.
At Manshead School headteacher Jim Parker said the pass rate was excellent at 99% and the percentage of students achieving A*-B grades is also high at 40% (with 16% of grades being A* or A).
Mr Parker said: “The students deserve great credit for the effort and determination they showed in achieving such impressive results this year.
“In the face of greater competition for places from universities and employers the students here at Manshead have again responded to this challenge by achieving excellent A-level and Btec Level Three results.
“There have been some remarkable individual achievements of which students and their parents should be very proud.
“Perhaps most importantly the success enjoyed by the students at Manshead Sixth Form means that they have secured their university places and employment opportunities.
“The results show that there is great strength in the Sixth Form at Manshead and that students of all abilities enjoy success in their studies.”
