Family’s car gun terror

A FAMILY-OF-THREE were left traumatised after they were robbed at gunpoint in their car in Luton on Monday.

A couple from Dunstable and their six-year-old child were driving in their blue Toyota Prius in Harefield Road at 8.50pm when they were forced to stop as a man stepped out into the road.

Two other men then got into the car and threatened the 30-year-old driver and his wife with what appeared to be hand guns before hitting them both on the head.

The offenders took an Apple iPad and a brown wallet containing personal documentation and cash before leaving the scene in an unknown direction.

Detective Constable Surfraz Hussain said: “The couple had their six-year-old child in the back of the vehicle at the time of this incident and they were all completely traumatised by what happened.

“Although gun crime is low in our county it is a concern that these people chose to put this family, including a small child, in such a dangerous and frightening position. I would appeal to anyone who can help identify those responsible for this crime or anyone who saw the car stop in Harefield Road to come forward and help with this investigation.”

The first offender is described as a man with an Asian appearance, approximately 20 years old, 5ft 5 with medium build. He wore a black hooded top and spoke with a local accent. The second offender is described as a white man, approximately 25 years old, 6ft, medium build with white blonde spiky hair and blonde eyebrows. He wore a black hooded top and spoke with a local accent.
