Fundraiser for Luton dad-of-three left in coma after motorcycle collision

A fundraiser has been started by the brother of a Luton man left critically injured after a motorcycle collision in Luton last week.

Petru Beniamin Tofan, 33, who works as a carpenter, is being treated at Addenbrookes Hospital and is currently in a coma.

The crash took place on Denbigh Road shortly after 8pm on Wednesday, May 13.

Mr Tofan's brother Sorin has now started a Gofundme page (see here) to support his family while he awaits recovery.

Sorin wrote: "Beniamin needs help for his long time recovery! He had a terrible accident where his brain was severely damaged!

"We are raising this funding to help him and his family wife and his three kids. His salary was the only income he had.

"We hope all of us can give Petru a push with his recovery and with God’s will, Petru will wake up again."

A Beds Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 8.10pm last night (Wednesday) to reports that a motorcycle had collided with a parked vehicle in Denbigh Road, Luton.

"The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition."
