Handing out free food bags

Members of My Father’s House in Dunstable have been raising money to make food bags to help those in need over the Christmas period.

The Raven Project provides free food bags to people during the holidays who can not provide meals for themselves.

Last year, during the Christmas week, 100 food bags were handed out at the Dunstable market.

This Christmas, the group behind the project at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, are looking to hand out at least 100 food bags to those most in need in Dunstable and the surrounding areas.

A spokesperson for the group said: “We are working with local organisations to ensure the bags go to where it is most needed.

“We will also be giving food bags out for free at the Dunstable Market in the morning of Saturday, December 23.”

Pastor of My Father’s House, Babatunde Akinfisoye said: “It’s been a great privilege to be able to reach out to those in our community and provide practical help in this season.”
