LUTON’S biggest women-only charity challenge – Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life – takes place in Stockwood Park on Sunday June 24.

Every year thousands of women, their family and friends flock to the event that is emotional, heartwarming and inspiring.

It takes about an hour to walk the 5km course and in that time, three more people will be diagnosed with the disease that affects one in three of us.

Luton events manager Becky Ryczowski said: “The entry fee is only £14.99, which covers our costs of staging it.

“This means that all the money raised in sponsorship will go towards research.

“The good news is that more people are beating the disease than ever before. Cancer Research UK’s work is at the heart of that progress.

“And by taking part in Race for Life, Luton women can help turn that hope into reality.”

Organisers are also recruiting volunteers of both sexes to help on the day.
