It's Special Saturday

There's a charities theme to the first Special Saturday initiative to bring people into town.

It’s been organised by the Dunstable Joint Committee and takes place at the Methodist Town Hall this Saturday (February 6).

All the free stalls have been snapped up by good causes including CHUMS. Street Pastors, Bedfordshire Beekeeping, Sight Concern and the Disability Resource Centre, as well as GRWE, RAFA and Friends of Priory House.

Dunstable Good Neighbours, Town Tour Guides and Travel Hub will also have a presence.

In addition there will be a Special Safety Saturday display on the Square with vehicles from the poloce, fire service and council.

Committee chair Cllr Carole Hegley said: “I hope residents will come along to hear more about the charities’ work, support them and get information about volunteering.”

This will be followed by a Special Craft Saturday on March 5 – when visitors can sign up for the Clean for the Queen campaign – and a Special Wellbeing Saturday on April 9.
