A bizarre find has left Bedfordshire Police scratching their heads after jewellery was discovered in a drain in Dunstable.
A member of the public found the haul and contacted police.
The items include a gold teddy bear and a pocket watch which is inscribed ‘To Mr L Palmer in recognition of his valuable service to Dunstable Citizens Advice Bureau Nov 1981’.
Detective Constable Scott Hannam said: “We are keen to trace the owners of these items and reunite them with their property.
“Some of the recovered jewellery is very distinctive and I would urge anyone who recognises them to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information should call DC Hannam on 101.
