Keep your smile, check your teeth

As part of National Smile Month, from May 19 to June 19, the council’s community dental service is encouraging people to take care of their gums and teeth.

Gerry Taylor, Luton’s director of public health, said: “Tooth decay is the most common chronic, preventative disease in children* so it’s important we all learn the right messages and actions to keep our teeth and gums healthy, from the youngest to the oldest person in Luton.”

Some tips from dental experts: brush your teeth twice a day, cut down on sugary food and drinks, use fluoride toothpaste and visit your dentist regularly.
