Luton set for charity jail break
There's to be a jail break in Luton today (July 21) - but fear not, the town isn't about to be over-run with desperate criminals.
It’s simply a stunt to raise money for new charity Transitions UK, set up to address the needs of a generation of young people – including those with disabilities and special needs – as they make the transition into the adult world.
It’s taking place at Act Around, off Luton’s Bute Street car park, and will involve half a dozen local businessmen.
They’ll be dressed in typical prison garb of stripey clothes and will be overseen by a large policeman with a nasty truncheon.
He will ensure they’re not given bail or released until they’ve raised up to £500 each for the charity.
