Man charged with murder after father-of-three dies

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with murder after a father-of-three died following an altercation in Dunstable in the early hours of Saturday morning, October 9.

Officers were called to High Street South at 1.45am following reports of an altercation.

The victim, 47-year-old Paul Mondon, of Flitton, Bedfordshire, was taken by ambulance to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A post mortem over the weekend established that he died from severe head injuries.

Mr Monton is survived by his wife, Karen, and three children.

Marc Allen, of High Street, Luton, has been charged with murder and is expected to appear at Luton Magistrates Court this morning, Monday, October 11.

A second man arrested on Saturday has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Det Insp Mike Trotman, of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Police are doing all they can to find out exactly what happened on Saturday morning and would urge anyone who was there, or has heard information since that may help, to get in touch.”
