The Mayor of Dunstable welcomed a new cafe to the town’s high street this month.
Councillor Liz Jones visited Streets Ahead to wish the owners luck in their new adventure.
Darren Goult and Peter Robinson have refurbished the retail unit to offer a cafe with a wide selection of all day breakfasts, lunches, teas, coffees and milkshakes.
Mr Goult said: “It has been a good few days with a continual stream of customers.
“We are offering something different in this area of the town and footfall is proving to be really positive.
“We want to work with the local community and ensure we offer something to everyone.”
Councillor Jones said: “It is fantastic to have two local lads come together to create this lovely cafe.
“Streets Ahead, will I am sure, be a hit with our residents with a varied menu and good value prices I am sure our residents will return time and time again.
“This is the third new business in less than a fortnight that I have visited and welcomed to the town - it is brilliant to see the empty units slowly returning to life in our town - long may it continue.”
