MP’s sexual abstinence bill withdrawn

MID BEDS MP Nadine Dorries’ parliamentary bill calling for sexual abstinence to be taught to girls in schools has been withdrawn.

The MP, whose constituency includes Toddington and Harlington, would have required schools to offer extra lessons including advice on abstinence to girls aged 13 to 16.

A large crowd of protestors had gathered outside the Houses of Parliament this morning (Friday) in anticipation of the bill’s second reading.

But it was removed by from the list of private members’ bills due to be heard by MPs.
