The original challenge was for 90 marathons in 90 days, when he completed that, he extended the challenge.

He said: “The first challenge raised money for Tommy’s, they supported me and my wife after she had a miscarriage.

“I decided to increase the challenge and try to break the world record and raise money for a charity that is close to my heart, Adoption UK, me and my brother were both adopted so adoptive parents are an inspiration for me.

“I want to inspire children to believe that they can achieve whatever they want in life.

“It has been difficult, both physically and mentally, but I am close to completing it.

“I want to raise as much money as possible, I think it is important that I raise awareness of the charity and the support it gives for people.

“I have travelled across the country and Holiday Inn have been really supportive, I am looking forward to coming to Dunstable. I want to thank everyone that has supported me along the way.”

Holiday Inn have been supporting Mark, Ella Hiscott, of Holiday Inn Express Dunstable, said: “The hotels across the country have been supporting him.

“We are opening our doors to the public on Saturday, we are hoping lots of the locals come and cheer him on.

“It is a big challenge and he is raising money for a good cause.

“Some runners from Dunstable Road Runners will be running with Mark.”
