PCC: ‘I’m keeping election promises’

Olly Martins was voted in as the county’s first PCC in November.

He said: “At the election last November I pledged to stop the wholesale privatisation of large parts of the police to G4S, to do all I could to protect visible frontline policing and to ensure that victims of anti-social behaviour and hate crime receive the priority they deserve.

“My actions demonstrate that I am doing what I said I would do. The negotiations with G4S have stopped, cuts to our valuable Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) have been halted and my forthcoming police and crime plan details how services to victims of anti-social behaviour and hate crime will improve.”

He said forthcoming objectives included providing better information to crime victims about their cases and keeping them up to date, a joined-up approach so that victims receive the full range of support services, and identifying vulnerable repeat victims more quickly.
