Extra treats for Pet Factor win!

EXTRA treats were in store for Houghton Regis pooch Choucas, after owner Paula Watts found out her champion canine had won the News/Gazette Pet Factor contest.

The Jack Russell cross breed received the most votes out of the 10 finalists, which included eight other dogs and two rabbits.

Paula, of Henley Close, said: ““I’m absolutely over the moon. To get the phonecall was brilliant.

“I will take him for a lovely long walk to celebrate. We can go out on the bikes and he can chase behind us. He will get extra treats tonight too.”

Three-year-old Choucas has been with Paula since he was a puppy and was named after a ski run in the French Alps.

“We wanted a name that meant something to us,” said Paula, who also owns a chinchilla and a Shih Tzu. “It was the first ski holiday that I took my husband on.”

And not only is Choucas a good natured dog, he is also able to wow people with his skills.

Paula said: “He does lots of tricks. He can give his paw, lay down, roll over, dance and fetch his collar. He’s a very clever dog. He loves to cuddle up but he’s also very protective.”

Choucas wins a top quality dog bed from Pets At Home, packed full of Mars Petcare food, treats and goodies.

Paula will also receive a stunning 16”x 12” colour print of Choucas from Starlight Studios.
