HM Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire Helen Nellis spoke with members and staff when she visited the children's charity on Leagrave Road, Luton, on Monday, February 17.

Caroline Fonseca, charity development manager at FUN, met with Helen Nellis and spoke about the work the charity does.

She said: "Mrs Nellis was delighted at how well our service is helping families who have children with additional needs.

"She was also delighted that we were now trying to obtain funding to provide daytime services for young adults with additional needs as this is an area she has real interest in.

"She stressed that she believed that over 18’s with SEND do not have enough provisions available to them and if successful with our new Adult service we will definitely fill a gap that is much needed."

Families United Network provides services for children and their families living in Bedfordshire and surrounding counties, the services range from youth and young adult’s clubs, respite services and holiday club for families to attend - catering for anyone up to the age of 40.
