The award recognises the work which staff at the Chalk Hills Academy, situated on Leagrave High Street, have put in to nurture a positive atmosphere and support their students’ emotional well-being.

Head of School Clare Chambers said: “I’m really proud of the entire team - they work so hard to make the academy feel positive and welcoming, and are so focused on tackling any bullying or bad behaviour.

"Though rare within Chalk Hills Academy, bullying is something that we quite simply will not tolerate.

"This recognition from the Anti-bullying Alliance is very welcome, and very much deserved.”

The Anti-bullying Alliance, which is funded by the Department for Education, is a coalition of organisations and individuals that are all united against bullying.

Their aim is to stop bullying and create safer environments in which children and young people can live, grow, play and learn.

Clare Chambers added: “Obviously this is a very strange time for us all - teachers, parents and students - as we all get used to the current restrictions.

"Getting this Gold Status for the work we’d been doing before COVID-19 is a real boost.

"And rest assured, it’s something we will continue to focus on once normality returns.”
