The vacant unit at 114 Midland Road, off the corner of Dudley Street, was formerly the home of Charlie Browns which billed itself as "Luton's longest running nightclub".
It became Irish pub Bar 32 in the mid 2010s and attracted controversy in November 2015 after refusing to serve customers wearing poppies.

Now, applicant Ovais Ahmed and agent SA Design Consultants have applied for change of use planning permission to transform two floors of the premises into a children's nursery
According to its design and access statement: "The proposal seeks to convert the upper and lower ground floor of a former night club to sessional care nursery.
"Access to the units would be from Midland Road and the existing corner entrance. There will be 50 to 60 kids for both morning and afternoon sessions.

There in no extra parking planned for the site, agent SA Design Consultants added: "The building is located in the centre of Luton and has a range of public transport links. We are expecting staff to come by bus or train."
A decision date has not been set for the plans as of yet.
