At around 10.25pm, the victim was walking along Langley Street. As she reached the junction of Park Viaduct a man approached her, grabbed her handbag and tried to pull it off her.

She was able to keep hold of her handbag and the man ran off towards Latimer Road.

The offender is described as a white male with a very sunburnt face, in his late 30s and around six feet tall. He had short dark brown hair and was clean shaven. He was described as broad and was wearing a dark blue short sleeved T-shirt, dark denim jeans and trainers.

Detective Constable Rachel Lydon, investigating, said: “The offender was unsuccessful in taking the victim’s bag from her, but it’s important that we find out who he is so he doesn’t try this again. I would urge anyone who knows who is responsible to come forward.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Lydon via 101 quoting crime reference number C/29367/16. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
