Statistics group says beware hoax census email
AN email claiming to be from the Office for National Statistics is a hoax that could harm recipients’ computers, the organisation has warned.
The message, titled ‘Population Census: a message to everyone – act now’, demands personal information and threatens fines for non-compliance.
But it is believed the links in the email could download malware to computers, which could put personal data at risk.
Anyone receiving this or similar emails should delete them.
