The theme for this year’s Houghton Regis carnival certainly struck a cord. What better way to celebrate the sunshine with Surf’s Up!
The seaside theme played well with the many onlookers as the carnival parade wound its way through the streets of the town.
Schools, clubs and organisations pulled out all the stops to entertain the crowds with a variety of seaside-themed floats.
Then it was off to the Village Green and a ‘roll up’ to the stalls which ranged from arts and crafts and handmade jewellery, to games and activities, tombola, charity stalls and car boot stalls.
Tea, coffee and cake in the pavilion were provided by the Houghton Regis W.I.
There was a canine dog display, Punch and Judy show, fairground rides and arena displays.
And of course no trip to the seaside would be complete without building some sandcastles, and a sandpit on The Green for younger children!
