Oh La La! After a great visit in 2014 Dunstable will play host to another French market this year.
France at Home will be running another genuine French
Market on Saturday October 10 on The Square, Dunstable.
French Traders, coming from Normandy, will be selling a wide range of authentic produce from France including bread and patisserie, pancakes, French cheeses and wines, leather handbags, olives from Provence, paté and saucisson from Normandy, wooden toys, basketwork and French music.
There will be many fantastic products that you will want to try.
French baking will be at the heart of the market with a huge variety and style of breads. You will certainly have to watch your waistline when you are tempted by the delicious crepes and cakes.
For those with more of a savoury taste there will be cheese and sausages and a full range of cooked meats and a delightful range of delicious crepes, biscuits and much more.
For music lovers there will be a treasure trove of vintage music from the 20s to the 50s. You will find amongst others, CDs of the great Chansons Francaises from Edith Piaf and Charles Trenet to Jacques Brel and George Brassens, accordion music, swing from the likes of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, Dixieland from New Orleans, Jazz, Blues and much more.
Try on a French chapeau or choose a leather hand crafted bag to go with your outfit. Then further accessorise it with a Paris styled scarf - but be warned there is such a huge choice it could take some time !!
Councillor Pat Staples, chairman of the community services committee said: “I am delighted that France at Home will be returning to Dunstable this year.
“This authentic French Market will be a wonderful enhancement to our traditional outdoor market. I hope the residents of Dunstable will take this opportunity to visit the market and take advantage of France being in our home once again!”
