The Dunstable superstore wanted to raise £7000 for the charity that helps children in Luton living in poverty.

Jane Malcolm, Level Trust director, said: “I was astounded at the amount of effort Tesco put into raising money for the charity, the team really do care about their local community.”

There was craft activities, balloon art, a disco, and a book signing by children’s author Jess Rowlands. Caddington Village School pupils recreated a scene from the author’s book, Boris The Brave,

Karen Linley, Tesco community champion, said: “It was a real community event, volunteers from Signposts came along and bag packed for customers to help Level Trust raise money for the project.

“We all had a great fun fundraising and it was very successful, we are well on the way to reaching our target.”
