Perennial favourites Chas & Dave are back at Dunstable’s Grove Theatre next month for another evening of music and entertainment on April 10.
Their semi music hall and pub singalong, boogie woogie style has never really gone out of fashion. And the Cockney duo gained a cult following with young and old alike after their 1979 hit Gertcha, which became a national catch phrase,
The talented twosome – aka pianist Charles Hodges and guitarist David Peacock – also wrote the title song for popular TV show Till Death Us Do Part, in addition to the ever popular Rabbit, London Girls and The Sideboard Song (Got my Beer in the Sideboard Here).
They’re currently celebrating their 50th anniversary in showbusiness with their first original album in 27 years – That’s What Happens is a mixture of vintage rock and roll songs and new renditions of their ‘rockney’ classics.
Make a date with Chas & Dave at 7.30 on Friday, April 10.
