A crash involving two HGVs is causing major tailbacks on the M1 between Luton and Milton Keynes this morning (Tuesday March 24).

Highways England are reporting delays of more than an hour between junction 11 junction 13 covering several miles of the northbound carriageway at 7am.

A HIghways England spokesman said: "Delays are due to a serious road traffic collision involving two HGV's with lanes one, two and three closed. Emergency services including Bedfordshire Police are in attendance. Highways England has resources deployed to assist.

"Road users are advised to expect disruption and to allow extra journey time. You may wish to re-route or delay your journey."
